Toast Coetzer was born in 1977 in Cradock. He plays in the band The Buckfever Underground and he works as a travel journalist for WEG and Go! magazines. He brought out two books in 2009: Naweek, an Afrikaans novella, and Key to Cape Town (with Samantha Reinders), a guide to the Mother City.

His short stories, poetry and travel columns have also appeared in other collections.

Samantha Reinders is an award-winning photographer and multimedia producer currently based in Cape Town, South Africa – pursuing stories there and abroad. She moved back to South Africa after completing her Masters in Visual Communication at Ohio University, and interning, in 2005, for US News & World Report magazine. At US News she covered the Washington, DC political landscape – including the White House and Capitol Hill. Samantha Reinders worked as a photographer on Key to Cape Town published in 2007.
