Roger De La Harpe

delaharperogerpatRoger and Pat de la Harpe moved to the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands from the Witwatersrand in the 1980s, leaving behind careers in heavy engineering and commerce. Roger joined the Natal Parks Board (now Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife) as a ranger, later becoming their photographer, while Pat was involved in local government. Now freelance photographers and writers they have over the years made numerous excursions into various regions of the African continent.

They share a passion for natural history, wild places and different cultures and their work on these subjects has been featured in various local and international publications including Africa Geographic, Getaway, BBC Wildlife, Wanderlust and German Geo. For several years Roger wrote a regular column on nature photography for the magazine Wildside, which was extremely popular.

Roger and Pat also own and manage Africa Imagery, an image library which has comprehensive coverage of Africa's natural history, travel, culture and now also wellness and health.
