Peter Comley It takes a certain character trait to give up years of training in commerce and law to follow a career in the African bush in an era when a cold shower was considered a supreme luxury. It was Peter Comley’s passion for things wild that enticed him to give up the comforts of an urban life in favour of roughing it, not only in the bush but also in a number of places he called home. His thirty years as a professional guide has led to many humorous and sometimes startlingly perilous incidents in some of the remotest places in Africa. Acknowledged as one of the Dark Continent’s leading guides, Peter, when he is not leading safaris, can generally be found in one or other secluded paradise, writing books and articles on travel and wildlife.
